Amid increased reports of threats against Jewish, Muslim, and Arab communities, federal agencies are reaching out to community leaders to assess their needs regarding safety and security.
U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland said at a Thursday press conference he has directed “all 94 of our United States Attorney’s offices and the FBI” to be in close touch with federal, state and local law enforcement partners in their districts in response to the Israel-Hamas conflict in the Middle East.

As someone who was born in Israel and has family there, I feel this is something I have to speak on. Horrific hate crimes just like these are being driven on both sides of the Hamas-Israel conflict. As a peaceful person, I will never support blatant acts of terror from Hamas, or the Israeli government. I have seen a lot of comments about this, as well as misinformed people screaming for a side they know nothing about. My question would be, “Why do privileged Americans feel the need to speak on conflicts they do not put in time to research, as well as conflicts that have nothing to do with them or their family?” It is extremely upsetting to see people, especially extremists, throwing up nazi symbols, or people blatantly laughing at the bombing of the Gaza strip, or the terror being experienced by the people in Israel. Why do people take sides in things they have no experience in?
Being arrogantly certain, from a place of ignorance, is an American pastime.
