In this article curfews for youth in certain cities, such as Washington D.C., are being put in place in order to curb crime. Although these curfews focus on predominantly African American and Latinx communities. Obviously this is not ethically okay, especially given the fact that this does not affect all communities in these cities. Law enforcement would be expected to enforce these curfews and this would play towards already high tensions between police and ethnic communities. My question is how else could this harm trust in law enforcement, and what are the other ethical disparities that could come from these curfews?
